About the Coveo Platform Release Cycle
Most of the Coveo Platform 7 products are released regularly. These release cycles allow Coveo to offer a continuous stream of product improvements with new features and incorporated fixes for support case issues and bugs (see Coveo Platform Release Notes).
Note: Coveo recommends that you stay current as much as possible and upgrade your Coveo products regularly.
Useful to know
Quarterly releases are typically made available the first Thursday of each third month.
Note: CES 7.0 and Coveo .NET Front-End 12.0 were following a bi-monthly release up to December 2015.
The Diagnostic Tool is released irregularly. Releases are only announced one week in advance.
Note: CES 7.0.8850+ (March 2017) The CES 7 install kit automatically installs the latest available version of the Diagnostic Tool.
Release development is cumulative. You can skip updates for one or more releases and catch up with the improvements of missed intermediate releases.
CES 7.0 and Coveo .NET Front-End 12.0 releases are independent, you can upgrade only the back-end, only the front-end, or both.
In the documentation, the Coveo product version numbering is presented in the [Product][Major].[Minor].[Release] form (see Identifying the Coveo Enterprise Search Version).
Example: CES 7.0.6339 refers to the Coveo Enterprise Search 7.0 January 2014 release (6339).
