Coveo Platform 7.0 New Security Framework

The Coveo Platform 7.0 security framework supports multiple security protocols and no longer requires Active Directory so that you can operate in non Windows environments. Each source is assigned a specific security provider with a specific user identity.

The Coveo Platform 7 now secures communications between the Coveo Front-End and Back-End processes using search security certificates. This authentication method allows the Coveo Front-End and Back-End servers to run on servers with various operating systems and not be dependent on a single security provider like Microsoft Active Directory (see About Search Security Certificate).
