Index Browser Available Actions
The following conditions affect the availability of some of the actions:
-
Source type must support the action.
-
User must have required permissions (see About Administration Roles).
-
Some actions are unavailable when indexing is disabled (see Disabling or Enabling Indexing).
The following table presents the actions that you can apply as a function of the document selection type from the Index Browser.
Actions | Description | Single document | Multiple documents | One or more folders |
---|---|---|---|---|
Refresh | The selected document(s) or folder(s) that were modified since the last indexing are deleted and re-indexed. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Rebuild | The selected document(s) or folder(s) are deleted from the index, and then re-indexed. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Remove from Index and Add Exclusion Filters | The selected document(s) or folder(s) are removed from the index and an exclusion filter is created to prevent their re-indexing (see Adding or Modifying Source Filters). | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Add an Exclusion Filter | The selected document(s) or folder(s) are subjected to an exclusion filter. However, they are not deleted until the next refresh or rebuild. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
Remove from index | The selected document(s) or folder(s) are removed from the index. They are re-indexed if a rebuild or refresh is performed, because no exclusion filter is created for their path. | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
